Overfetch Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 29, 2026
This policy explains how Overfetch handles information for its Chrome DevTools extension and public website.
What Overfetch Does
Overfetch is a Chrome DevTools extension that helps developers inspect API responses and identify response fields that are not used by the page UI.
The extension works locally in your browser while you use DevTools.
Information We Collect
Overfetch does not collect, sell, or share personal information.
The extension may inspect network response structures and JavaScript property access in the active browser tab so it can show unused field analysis inside DevTools. This analysis is used for the extension's local functionality.
Data Storage
Overfetch does not operate a hosted backend for storing inspected API payloads or browsing activity.
Any extension state used for the DevTools experience is handled locally by the browser or extension runtime.
Data Sharing
Overfetch does not transfer inspected API payloads to third parties.
The landing website uses Vercel Analytics to understand aggregate site traffic. This analytics is separate from the Chrome extension and is used only for the public website.
Permissions
Browser permissions requested by Overfetch are used only to provide the DevTools inspection workflow and analyze API usage in pages where you open the extension.
Permissions are not used for advertising, profiling, or unrelated tracking.
Contact
For privacy questions or requests, contact the project maintainer through the Overfetch GitHub repository.
